Last Wednesday, October 5, the Joan Manén Association and Amics de la Música de Manlleu met to sign a biennial agreement in which they agree on the program of concerts for the “Els teus clàssics” Cycle in Manlleu.

The Joan Manén Association's main objective is to develop a task of recovering and disseminating Catalan musical heritage throughout the territory, concerts that include works by Catalan authors performed by quality musicians. The cycle of concerts "Els teus clàssics" organized annually by the association in Barcelona is one of the main projects of the entity that allows all this heritage to be valued. To expand this work, the Joan Manén Association has decided to co-organize concerts with various relevant Catalan musical entities that regularly carry out a regular season of concerts. With the agreement signed last Wednesday, Amics de la Música de Manlleu is involved in this project, programming in its regular season some of the concerts in co-production with the Joan Manén Association, which will at the same time form part of the “Els teus clàssics” concert series.

Catalonia has a rich musical heritage that is often completely unknown by the public and by the performers. With this project of Els teus clàssics in Catalonia, the Joan Manén Association and Amics de la Música de Manlleu want to give a new impetus to the dissemination of music by Catalan authors.

Amics de la Música de Manlleu has been organizing concerts for thirty-two years. The beginning of the entity arose from the initiative of a group of teachers from the Manlleu Music School with the intention of bringing classical music closer to the students. Amics de la Música has the desire to offer quality classical music concerts at affordable prices and try to bring this music to all kinds of audiences.
